 Fail2Ban scans log files like /var/log/pwdfail and bans IP that makes too much password failures. It updates firewall rules to reject the IP address. Currently sshd and iptables are supported. Needs log4py.
It is currently in an alpha status because it has not been tested a lot yet but it should be perfectly usable. I use it on my server with satisfaction. Thus you are invited to test it and reports bugs or feedbacks. Use the latest CVS version preferably.
